An Hypothesis:
Special athletic talent may be helpful in firing major muscle groups in one part of the body (thighs and hips) while not firing muscles elsewhere. Most people feel as if they use almost all their muscles simultaneously when making a major athletic move. This may be a challenge to amateur golfers since they must train themselves not to fire any muscles above the waist while they are firing thigh and hip muscles. Most readers will need some practice-tee time to train themselves not to fire chest and forearm muscles
simultaneously with thigh and hip muscles.

the subject of the next chapter. Looking at the photos below, the left hip rotates very quickly around and behind.

Tour pros use a snappy around and behind rotation of their left hips beginning during the overlap to maximize rotational torso stretch.  Just how far behind does the left hip whirl? A Lot.

Matt’s shoes are about 14 inches long, but also are somewhat open at address. The dot where the bottom of the pants pocket hits the outside seam is our reference point. The red line moves in the behind direction from start of overlap to impact about 12 to 13 inches.
