Golf Lesson Video

Golf lesson video can be the difference between playing good and great.  Using Matt’s pocket button as a proxy for the center of his right buttock, notice as he coils how the vertical red line moves--in relation to his right heel--two inches or so forward from address to top.

How this move feels is best revealed in the last two photos above wherein most of the forward motion occurs. As you begin to coil, you should feel the right side of your torso move straight behind. Note that the red line does not move forward in photo #2 above. Toward the end of this move, you’ll feel about a 2-inch rotation of your right buttock around and forward.

At the top of the next page is yet another camera angle that says behind, not back. Look at the red lines (drawn vertically where the bottom of the opening of Matt’s righthand pocket hits the outside pants seam).

Judging by where the red line crosses his shoe at address and then moves behind his shoe at the top of his coil, the right hip/buttock apparently moves in the behind direction about 4 inches.

And he then said: “Well, let’s see you hit a few.” I did that and he then said: “I think I might be able to help.”
Fascinated by what I learned from Win on the lesson tee, I began my own investigation by:
1) gathering published magazine, book and video images of the swings of great golfers from the past and present.
2) with my own digital video camera, gathering images of today’s Tour players--198 of them, eventually
3) looking for moves and positions common to all great players.
