Learn How to Golf
To learn how to golf properly, often videos and diagrams are the best place to start. The following are some brief excerpts from our books and video.
Arms As Free As Birds Swooping Through Open Air at impact, look at the size of the gap between the Matt’s right hip and arms. He’s gotten his hands and arms up and away and his right hip behind and forward during the lift 'n coil, and then initiated his flail (while his arms/wrists are still coiling) by snappily rotating his hips. His arms can consistently move through the same open speedway, increasing shotmaking accuracy.
Centrifugal force is a function of rotational velocity squared. The more room we give the arms to zip freely through their speedway, the more quickly the whiphead will approach the ball (and lots of room means the arms won’t get bumped onto some detour). Thighs And Hips Stretch And Snap; “Swing Rhythmically” Is A Prison.
Do you remember:
- Hogan’s quote about “snapping” the hips
- Jones’ quotes about “wrenching” torsos, and hips “whipping around like a flash”
- 10 miles per hour vs. 44 miles per hour?
You want to find that overall pace that allows you consistently to have things happening in the proper sequence, i.e. your lower torso zippily initiating your circular flail while your arms/wrists are still coiling.
