1. Root Cause of Bad Shots
For almost all amateurs, the root cause of bad shots is a failure to initiate the downswing with the hips, leaving the right hip in the right elbow’s pathway. Most amateurs’ swings are upside down. That is, they try to force the club toward the ball by using all their muscles at once, especially chest and arm muscles.
Tour pros lead with their lower body, their hips--not their chest and arms, opening up a pathway for their right elbows. How they do this is not as simple as it looks. Check out the SWAIL dvd to learn how you can build this hips-first move into your swing.

2. Two dominant sensations: Around & Whip
Around--Though ‘back’ and ‘forth’ are the dominant directional indicators in common golf instruction, you do not want to feel predominantly as if you are moving back and forth. Instead, you want to feel your torso and arms whirling in circles, first clockwise, then counter-clockwise. The SWAIL dvd has a drill that will give you a good feel of the swing’s dominant rotary motion
Whip--Much instruction encourages a two-piece concept of the golf swing: back then forth, one then two, up then down. But in Tour pros’ swings the hips begin to uncoil before the shoulders and arms and club have finished coiling. This is a continuous overlapping, fluid, whipping motion. There’s more to this than meets the eye, but the SWAIL dvd will teach you how to accomplish this move -- a move that sets good players apart. |

| 3. Drills
SWAIL identifies three key moves that comprise the heart of good ballstriking: lift, coil and snap. SWAIL has designed a drill for each that will give you the feel of a good swing. |

4. Misleading Terminology
Common terminology in the golf world includes: swing, rhythm, grip, back, forth, club. The SWAIL dvd will prove each of these misleading, and will recommend replacements. For example, in his instructional classic Five Fundamentals, Ben Hogan says “The hips initiate the downswing. They snap back to the left with tremendous speed...” SWAIL agrees totally with this comment. The hips do snap. But how in the world do you reconcile a snapping move within a ‘swing’?? If you’re instructed to ‘swing rhythmically’, how will you ever learn to ‘snap’ your hips with tremendous speed’? Check out the SWAIL dvd for more such insights. |

5. Thigh and Torso Muscles
Four horsepower are needed to accelerate the clubhead from 0 to 100 miles per hour. At least 30 pounds of muscle, working flat out, are needed to muster 4 horsepower. Your arms cannot even come close to doing it alone; they need major help from your thighs and torso. Learn how in the SWAIL dvd. |

6. Revelations From Electromyographic Muscle Research
The golf swing is all about stretching and firing of muscles. The SWAIL dvd will teach you which muscles are the primary accelerators of the clubhead, and the sequence in which they fire. You’ll then know how to craft a backswing that stretches these muscles, and you’ll know which to fire when to accelerate the clubhead toward the ball. |
